Nueva York (New York) - Junio 2013

This year we went back to New York.  We've been already a few times there but I am always amazed by this city.  It is always modern, old and beautiful.  I love this city.

The last weekend of May we made our minds and in less than two weeks we prepared this trip.  We have had the best of time and we are looking forward to going again and again in the future.

We arrived on Saturday at around 4 p.m but we had to queue for three hours to go through immigration, after that it took us an hour to arrived to Manhattan and to our hotel.  Once we left our luggage in the hotel there was only time to have some dinner and a short walk and that was it.  The first picture is the Rockefeller Center the night we arrived.  It is really near our hotel.

On Sunday we stopped for a moment in Times Square in our way to the Empire State.  I had been to Times Square before but until now I have never been impressed.  This time I was impressed though.  The quality of the images showing there are really something and it feels like you are in a futuristic city.

My sister wanted to go up the Empire State.  We have been up there a few times and I didn't have much interest but we went.  It takes forever to go up because you have to queue a lot.  The views of course are spectacular.  Anyway if someone is going for the first time to New York I would recomend going up the Rockefeller Center as well.  We went last time we visited New York and it is beautiful the views you get from there.

After that, lunch time.  We went to Bryan Park.  It is wonderful for a Sunday.  We got some sandwiches and some lemonade and sit and relax for a while there.

That Sunday was Puerto Rico's Day and there was a big parade in the 5th Avenue.  Lot of music and really colorful it was quite fun.

The best place to go on a Sunday in New York is Central Park.  The weather was quite nice to go for a walk in Central Park and there we went.  We love Central Park, it is beautiful there and it is so big that there's always new places to discover and visit.

Tony's Award were that evening in Radio City Music Hall.  We went there for a while waiting to see (or recognize) a celebrity, after all, it is New York.

And that was more or less our first day in New York.  Hope you like it.

De viaje.

No, no me he olvidado del blog.

I have been away travelling and that is the main reason I haven't posted anything in a while.  I have just arrived so I haven't had enough time to download the photos I've taken.  I am now in twitter (https://twitter.com/lastardesdeana) and instagram as lastardesdeana.  I still don't know much about how to use both but I have posted some pictures in instagram and I think you can access them via twitter.

Anyway as soon as I can I will be posting pictures of my travelling.

Progresos

He estado algo liada y no he tenido mucho tiempo para hacer labores.

I really don't have much to tell.  I have continued working in my new shawl and my new blanket.  They are really easy crochet and for me it is a way to relax after a long day.  The cross-stitch "Floralies" that I am doing as part of a SAL I should have had it finished by now but well... we'll see.
