Crochet: verano, 2013 (2ª parte)

He hecho dos versiones.

What you can see in the photos is what I have been doing lately.  First of all and most important is that I finished the gray cotton shawl.  It is beautiful.  I have used cotton thread from Hilaturas Presencia (nº5).  I am really happy with the result.  This is a present and I still have to give it to that person.  I don't know when I will be able to give it.  I would like to make a shawl for myself just like this one, or maybe in another colour.  We'll see next summer.

I am also being working in this two granny cushions.  I have been deciding if I wanted both of them to look the same but in the end I have left them as you can see in the pictures.  I have begun with the border and I will probably buy a fabric that I have already seen for the back.  The fabric I want to use is white with pink polka dots, it is actually a fabric for flamenca dresses.  I still have to go and buy it.

I have already started another shawl just like the one I gave my sister at the beginning of this summer.  It is also a present and this person likes this colour a lot.  I am going to see if I can finish it by the end of September.  We'll see.

I am also keep on working in a white cotton bedspread for my bed.  I am already know that I will finish it next summer.  I don't think I will have enough time this summer.  But never mind I will finish when I can.

I want to make two cushion covers.  One for me one for my sister.  I know what I want and I have the fabric for both of them.  The last picture you can see in this post is the fabric I have bough for the cushion cover for my sister.  She has a red armchair and this fabric is just perfect for it.  All I need is a bit of time to make both of them.

Well and that's all for now.

I am still baking bread every week although I am not posting about it.  The reason is that as you can see I am baking more or less the same tin-loaf as always.  Sourdough, flour, water and salt and that's it.  Right now I am using a wholemeal flour (I think is Allison) that is all the flour I have left in the pantry.  I need to buy more flour. I am using just a tablespoon of sourdough for 500 gr flour because here in Málaga is really hot and I don't want that the dough ferments too quickly. I am also adding like 380 gr water or even a bit more becasue this type of flour needs a lot of water. I mix everything in the morning and I bake in the afternoon or early evening.

I baked this weekend some muffins or magdalenas as well.  The same recipe I always follow.  This time I put some carrot and green apple because I had a carrot and apple juice in the morning and what was left was too good to throw away (the carrots and the apple were clean when I did the juice).  I added some almond flour too.  They are, well they were delicious.

Crochet: verano, 2013

These are my crochet projects for this summer.  My number one project at the moment is the gray shawl.  I want it to be a present and I want to finish it as soon as I can.  I still need to work a bit more in the shawl but I am beginning to see the end.  The second project I am working right now is the granny squares.  I started last summer that was when I bought the yarns.  I am doing two types of grannys, first ones (white, green and pink) are (I think) for some cushions for my bedroom and the second ones are for another cushion for a summer chair.  I must say though that at the moment I am only doing the squares so the final result may change with time.

I have also started a white cotton blanket for my bed.  I am crocheting it with white thread.  I wanted a blanket like this for a while now and at least I have started it.  I stopped because my priority is the gray shawl but once I finished with it I will continue with this blaket.  I am not concern if I don't finihed it this year or the next.

Last blanket is the one I startet in may (I think).  I stopped working in it in July because it is already to hot to be touching any wool yarn.  I will continue with it in October or November.  Anyway I wanted to show you the progress.

And this is more or less everything at the moment.

Floralies 4

I thought I would never see this Floralies from the Club Tralala Love SAL finished.  I just don't seem to have enough time for cross-stitch lately and when I finally have time I am just too tired to follow the pattern and everything.  But well, here it is.

A couple of weeks ago my aunt and godmother invited her daughters and her nieces to her house.  I brought a cheesecake.  You can find the recipe here http://lastardesdeana.blogspot.com.es/2012/07/tarta-de-queso-y-magdalenas.htmlOne of my cousin gave me this recipe and it is perfect for summer.  It is really easy to make and very quick.  I don't do the base with cookies and butter and I don't cover it with jam, I think like this is really delicious and it doesn't need anything else.
